I am really developing a dislike for DMC light effects floss. On the bright side, the frame that I am stitching is lining up, which means that everything is in the right place. That was something I was a little nervous about.
I have been working on the metallic gold frame that runs around the edge of the entire piece. I am not sure what I think is worse: working with blending filament or metallic thread. The end result is nice and shiny, though.
I have had a terrible time working on the last butterfly. I had problems with the blending filament snapping and also with counting stitches. The wings are finally finished. Now I need to stitch the body.
I stitched three more ivy leaves, an oak leaf, and another set of acorns. I have now worked halfway across the bottom of the piece. Everything else that I have to stitch is roughly a mirror image of what appears here.
